From Compliance to Prevention: New Anti-Harassment Strategies for the Post-#MeToo Workplace

2019 Employment Law & Legislative Conference
Learn how to move beyond traditional "check-the-box" anti-harassment practices toward innovative prevention approaches that can stop harassment before it starts.

The recent wave of #MeToo-inspired legislation in New York, California and beyond—as well as pressures from boards of directors, shareholders and employees—are compelling organizations to reimagine their harassment-prevention efforts. During this session, the speaker will discuss new anti-harassment mandates and organizational risk factors that are prompting employers to retool their training, policies, communications and culture in 2019 and beyond. The session will also highlight evidence-based approaches—such as leveraging workplace norms and bystander intervention techniques—that enable organizations to go beyond legal compliance to transform workplace behavior. Attendees will gain:

  • Knowledge of recently enacted legislative mandates regarding harassment in the workplace.
  • Understanding of the organizational risk factors of harassment and research-based strategies that can help stop harassment.
  • Actionable insights for building and implementing a comprehensive, organizationwide harassment-prevention initiative.
