The Supreme Court Speaks: Are You Listening?

SHRM 2013 Employment Law and Legislative Conference
The Supreme Court Speaks: Are You Listening?

Workplace Application:  A thorough understanding of the Court’s key labor and employment law decisions can help you protect yourself and your organization from liability.

The highest court in the land permanently shapes federal labor and employment law; this presentation examines the most important related decisions from the Court’s last few terms. Each analysis covers the facts of the case, a summary of the holding, the Court's rationale, and the long-term implications—how employers are or will be affected by those decisions. You’ll find out:

  • What HR professionals need to do to protect themselves and their organizations from liability
  • The practical applications of implementing specific workplace policies and procedures
  • How the different Justices tend to rule on certain business issues, and what that tells us about the future of cases pending in the upcoming term.
