Dr. Shirley Davis, SPHR, is an accomplished corporate executive, global workforce and talent management expert, an international professional speaker, trainer, career strategist, executive coach, and author. She has consulted and presented to leaders at all levels of the organization, including in all business sectors, and across a number of industries. She has also worked in more than 10 countries providing training programs, keynotes, and strategy development. Her clients describe her as high-energy, engaging, dynamic, inspirational, passionate, highly-capable and practical.

Dr. Shirley Davis also possesses an accomplished history as a senior leader and executive in various HR roles with Fortune 50, 100, and 500 companies in financial services/banking (12 years’ experience); retail services (3 years); manufacturing/utility (2 years), and most recently at the world’s largest HR membership association—the Society for Human Resource Management as Vice President of Global Diversity & Inclusion and Workplace Strategies. She sits on several national and local boards and is very active in her church and community.

Her educational accomplishments also demonstrate her commitment to excellence, thirst for knowledge, and her life-long learning. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law with a minor in Communications from the University of Maryland, College Park; a certificate in Organizational Change from the Darden School of Business Executive Education Program; completed several Harvard School of Business Management Development courses; earned a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University; and a Ph.D. in Business & Organization Management from Capella University.

She’s a sought after resource among the media and has been featured and quoted on NBC’s The Today Show, in the Wall Street Journal, Essence Magazine, Black Enterprise Magazine, The Washington Post, HR Magazine, and Diversity Woman Magazine. She was named one of the Top 100 Corporate Executives in America by Uptown Professional Magazine 2011, 2012, 2013 and now 2014. In 2011, she was named as a 2012 “Woman Worth Watching” by Profiles in Diversity Journal and she received the “Strategic Star” Award by Diversity Woman Magazine in Dec. 2012, and was honored with the Catalyst Award in 2013 by Uptown Professional. She’s a former Miss District of Columbia, Mrs. Oklahoma, Ms. Richmond, Ms. Virginia and in 2000 went on to win the national title of Ms. American United States.
