“Gotta Minute?” Dealing with Constant Distractions in the HR Environment

2013 Leadership Conference
Workplace Application: Identify, prevent, reduce, and manage interruptions and distractions in the environment that prevent you from completing high-priority projects.

The most effective time management system in the world won't do a thing to improve your productivity if you can’t focus on the critical tasks at hand. For many the problem isn't a lack of willpower—it's the constant distractions that take your focus and pull you away from the key activities of your job. Drop-in visitors, noisy environments, office set-up, the Internet, your brain, email, and technology prevent us from concentrating on important tasks. You will learn how to balance an “open door” policy with focus time, deflect interruptions and say no with creative language techniques, maintain momentum on a project and reduce the sense of “ADD” and multi-tasking and discover a multitude of techniques for reducing distractions in your environment.
