SMART STAGE Understanding the Experience of Being Fired

2019 Annual Conference & Exposition

This presentation will provide a glimpse into the experience of being fired from the employee perspective. Learn how employees perceive communication regarding their performance up to the point at which they are fired, what is perceived as a fair versus unfair dismissal, and what you can do to ensure managers are addressing performance concerns directly before resorting to the ultimate conclusion. Are employees who are skating on thin ice given a real change to improve? What is the role of the PIP? What percentage of employees view their dismissal as fair? What can you do to make sure that employees don't head right to Glass Door to vent their grievances when they are let go? This presentation will answer all of those questions, and more.
