Data Driven Decision Making - Leveraging Recent U.S. Government Visa and Immigration Statistics

2020 Global Mobility and Immigration Symposium
Learn how to best use U.S. government visa and immigration statistics to benefit your organization’s immigration program.

The new USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub now provides full-year statistics that you can use to better anticipate impacts to your organization’s immigration programs. RFE rates are at historical highs for H and L petitions. The number of nonimmigrant visas issued by U.S. Consulates dropped 7% the past two fiscal years. While immigrant visa issuance by U.S. Consulates has declined overall by 5%, employment-sponsored visas increased 14% in the past fiscal year. The number of green cards issued has dropped by 11.5%, excluding refugees, according to new data released by the Department of Homeland Security.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand what statistics signal in U.S. immigration trends.

  • Evaluate how and which numbers affect your immigration programs.

  • Determine how to use data to anticipate impacts on your organization.

  • Plan how to strategize around the statistical trends.
