2022 Talent Conference
Learn the benefits of adopting a more flexible, agile, and distributed talent strategy and how business leaders are redesigning their workplace, workforce, and workflow in order to gain competitive advantage against competitors.

For years, hiring battalions of traditional full-time employees was seen as the panacea to solving almost all business problems and needs. More recently, however, we’ve been hit by the reality check that the nature of work is changing. Today, in light of major programs, budget and headcount being at constant risk, persistent talent shortages and skills gaps, and an ever-evolving remote work landscape, it is not as cut and dried about when to hire full-time employees or consider alternative sources of talent like freelancers, contractors or temps to help scale your business. Beyond that, new questions arise about the appropriate division of labor between these various types of employees within an organization. Paradigm shifts in how we work have created a generational opportunity for businesses to embark on a Grand Redesign. Upwork VP of Talent Solutions Margaret Lilani shares why considering alternative sources of talent and experimenting with a flexible workforce can broaden possibilities for your organization and discusses real-world examples of how business leaders have embraced different work models to become a more nimble, efficient and effective team.

Learning Objectives:

  • How to navigate and determine the six categories of workplace design (remote-first, remote-for-now, remote-friendly, hybrid by role, hybrid by day-mix or onsite).
  • How to employ technology solutions to redesign the workforce from thinking ‘talent acquisition’ to ‘talent access’.
  • How to leverage workstreams in company workflows to gain a competitive advantage against competitors.
