Interrupting Bias in Hiring and Retention

2024 SHRM Northern California Annual Conference

Unconscious bias, or implicit bias, refers to the attitudes, beliefs, and stereotypes held about a person or group. These types of biases are outside of our conscious awareness and can therefore be present even when we try to be neutral. When organizations have not created robust diversity programs that include criteria to reduce biased decision making, they may miss opportunities to leverage diversity for lasting business success in an evolving marketplace.

Join us for an interactive, thought-provoking discussion about how biases present themselves in daily interactions. Discover how to interrupt bias in hiring and retention to create a competitive advantage.

Workplace Application: Participants will gain valuable insights about how managing our biases lead to inclusive practices that contribute to fostering a diverse and equitable talent pipeline.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify common biases that present themselves in hiring and retention programs.
2.  Recognize the origin biases and impact of them in hiring and retention.
