Health Disparities, Health Equity, and Social Determinants of Health

Session Sponsor:
HR Reimagined: SHRM Northern California Annual Conference 2021

Health Disparities, Health Equity, and Social Determinants of Health The health of those we serve and the communities in which we live and work includes not only physical health, but also emotional, social, environmental and financial well-being. For too many people, race, economic status, education levels, neighborhood and home safety, access to care and healthy food, and even relationships with family, friends and community are creating obstacles to good health. As a health care organization and partner, we are committed to cultivating a state of health equity in the marketplace and are actively engaged in the effort to identify and address social determinants of health and eliminate disparities in health care. We can shed light on how understanding and knowing about these health disparities bring a focus on how health care is delivered and utilized, and how best to improve health equity for all.
