DEI Powerpack: From Sourcing Diverse Talent to Creating Inclusive Cultures?* * Additional fee and registration required

Session Sponsor:
HR Reimagined: SHRM Northern California Annual Conference 2022

Join ReadySet, a leading diversity, equity and inclusion firm, in a comprehensive workshop to level up your DEI leadership skills. We'll cover human-centric approaches to:

· DEI-centered sourcing: We know diversity is essential to our workplaces but it's not always easy to know how to recruit with DEI in mind. With a background in HR and executive recruiting, Dennis Quartermane will facilitate a workshop on the practical challenges and solutions that attend the transition from diversity sourcing to DEI-centering. Joined by Stevon Cook, former school trustee and entrepreneur, the session will introduce concepts such as inclusive hiring and equitable talent acquisition practices. Attendees can expect group discussion and practical takeaways which meet the goal of learning how to break out of the narrow and explore the boundless application of DEI in the workplace.

· Inclusive feedback: Research has shown that the vast majority of employees want more feedback at work. However, we know from neuroscience that feedback can set off fight or flight responses and that it's notoriously difficult for managers to give. Facilitated by Dr. Lily Jampol, who has written extensively on communication biases and feedback, participants will walk away with a new understanding of your own approach to feedback and ways to become a better feedback giver and receiver - essential skills as a manager and leader.

· HR-specific allyship practice: HR leaders often balance multiple perspectives in the DEI conversation. How can we address these tensions and work within challenging gray areas of what falls under compliance and what is HR-appropriate allyship practice? With 20 years of strategy and facilitation experience, Meghna Majmudar will lead this interactive conversation. Participants will walk away with new frameworks that they can put into action immediately.

Please excuse him in advance if you hear his dog Willow in the background during a remote meeting. She's always trying to distract him because she wants to play.

Dennis Quartermane

Dennis
Quartermane
Dennis (he/him) likes two things more than a big challenge; the right timing to change the way executive search is not only done but thought about and the right team to do it with! "Recruiter" is not how Dennis prefers to be referenced - he is a career architect who places high importance on partnering with clients and candidates during the entire match-making process, from start to finish. With integrity, effort, and enthusiasm, Dennis ensures that professionals feel supported when making a career decision. The goal is not to fill jobs, but rather build long-lasting relationships in which everyone comes out on top. As President of Profound Placement, a boutique headhunting firm based in San Francisco, Dennis employed a unique, high touch approach with clients and candidates. This personalized experience returned clarity and communication to the recruiting process. Prior to starting Profound Placement, Dennis was a Recruiter for the LaSalle Network where he launched the San Francisco office for a Fortune 5000 recognized, Chicago-based recruiting firm and consistently conducted 15+ new candidate interviews per week. Dennis also worked as an Executive Recruiter at Executive Trackers LLC. Before making the jump into the recruiting industry, he spent 10 years working in finance, mastering his networking, and negotiating skills. Dennis graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Psychology. In his free time, Dennis is a student of Wing Tsun at the oldest practicing kung fu studio in Chinatown, the same vibrant San Francisco neighborhood where he resides. In most recent news, Dennis, his wife, and teenage daughter were joined by an 8lb bundle of joy in October of 2021. They thrive and life could not be better!
