What Is a Trauma-Informed Workplace, and Why Do I Need One?

Inclusion 2019: Shifting Workplace Culture

Over 50% of adults in the United States experienced some form of childhood trauma. Employees with significant trauma histories are at increased risk of a variety of mental and physical health disorders that can interfere with overall productivity. This session will discuss long-term consequences of childhood trauma and how they can affect work performance, what a trauma-informed workplace is, and ways that employers can create environments that support staff with trauma backgrounds without having knowledge of who has been affected.
