Status message

A session in this conference ends more than 10 days after the conference! Some sessions may not appear properly in My Session Planner.
INCLUSION 2022
Attendees will learn how cognitive and behavioural differences are associated with biological brain differences, and strategies for embracing all brains in the workplace.

Session seating is first come, first served. Thank you for your cooperation.

Cognitive diversity is the variation in how we perceive and process information - such as how we learn, remember, focus, solve problems, make decisions, and interact with others. It arises because our nature and experiences lead our brains to each work differently. This session will introduce a neuroscience-based approach to fostering cognitive inclusion. The presenter is a former neuroscientist, with a PhD in neuroscience, over eight years of experience in academic research, and demonstrated excellence in translating brain research into actionable workplace applications.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define cognitive diversity and explain why it is valuable for collaboration and innovation.
  • Reflect on your own cognitive style and initiate discussion within your team to learn about the different ways of thinking and working among team members.
  • Describe examples of differences in brain structure and function that are associated with different strengths, approaches, and behaviours in the workplace.
  • Identify strategies related to leadership, recruitment, and collaboration that can be implemented to build cognitively-inclusive workplaces.
Date(s) & Time(s):
