Volunteer Leaders' Business Meeting

As a new leader, there are many tools, information and guidelines on how to utilize the SHRM brand platform.  This session will acquaint you will all the basics to getting started on best practices for efficiently co-branding and messaging with SHRM.

As Field Services Director for the Society for Human Resource Management, Susan Post has accountability for the membership and relationship management strategies for SHRM affiliates in a nine-state territory (CT, DE, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI and VT.)  She serves SHRM members, prospective members and volunteer leaders from her home office in upstate NY. 

Prior to joining SHRM in 1999, Susan had 15 years of progressively responsible HR experience with several organizations, including Eastman Kodak and Cornell University.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Le Moyne College, is certified as a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Susan's affiliation with the Society began in the early 1980's, when she served two terms as President of the Le Moyne College student chapter in Syracuse, NY.  Throughout her professional career, Susan held numerous SHRM volunteer leadership roles, including two terms as President of her local professional chapter and District Director on the New York State Council.

Outside of SHRM, Susan has served in a variety of volunteer leader capacities for many organizations. She is currently a member of the Elmira Little Theater board of directors, a non-profit community theater group in Elmira, NY.

Christopher Kenny is the director of brand communications at SHRM, the voice of all things work, and global leader in creating better workplaces for a better world. As director of brand communications, he provides strategic counsel on all national advertising cam aigns, large market brand stunts, and determines where and how the SHRM b and shows up. For more than a decade he has helped organizations ac ieve results by creating innovative brand and communications str tegies that drive business goals. Previously, Kenny led the public relations function at Digital Signal Corporation, a tech company and world leader in 3D long-range facial recognition software. During his tenure, he secured top media placements, worked with international partners on product rollouts, and led strategic integrated marketing plans. A politico at heart, Kenny has been involved in several local elections, and community campaigns and believes that every voice and vote count towards changing the world. A Virginia Beach, VA native, Kenny earned his master's degree from The George Washington University (GW) School of Political Management, in Strategic Public Relations and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Lee University. In his spare time, Kenny enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and hiking with his dog Kailo. He currently resides in Arlington, VA.
