Robert Garcia, MBA, SHRM-SCP
Robert is a Vice President, Global Operations for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management representing more than 275,000 members in over 160 countries by serving the needs of HR professionals and advancing the interests of the HR profession. He is responsible for establishing and growing business relationships with key business leaders and HR executives in multinational and large national companies, accredited universities, human resource associations, and training providers globally.
Before joining SHRM, Robert was Corporate Director of Human Resources for Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF), a health care organization with an outstanding reputation for medical and service excellence. He was responsible for the delivery and integration of human resources services throughout the system. Prior to BHSF, he was Director, Executive & Professional Education at Florida International University (FIU) responsible for the development, promotion, and delivery of educational programs throughout Florida, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Robert was previously, SVP – Managing Director at Lee Hecht Harrison, a global leader in human capital solutions, where he was responsible for the strategic management process to achieve market growth and provide human capital solutions to global companies throughout the world. Robert was also with ADP TotalSource, where he established a corporate university and provided human resource solutions to executive teams. In addition, he was a health care executive at United Healthcare, where he created management development programs and managed multi-specialty medical centers. He has also conducted research and published articles in the fields of Pediatrics & Psychology.
Robert obtained a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University and is a distinguished graduate of Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management. He is certified through the Human Resource Certification Institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), and Human Resource Management Professional (HRMP).
He is an adjunct faculty member and faculty director of HR Programs at Florida International University Executive and Professional Education and has been a professor at the University of Miami, Nova Southeastern University, and Barry University.
