Post-Incarceration Employment: A Societal, Talent and Legal Imperative for Success
This is a call to action for organizations that do not consider candidates with a felony history. It provides perspectives to address the societal need for ending the cycle of incarceration for families and communities, the talent needs that can be met by these skilled people, the legal requirements of the EEOC and workplace safety … and the success that many employers have experienced when they give these worthy individuals a chance. This session will:
· Provide an understanding of the benefits of tapping into this resource that is frequently bypassed
(usually due to ignorance or convenience).
· Enable you to overcome ignorance by partnering with experts from organizations who can provide the information and
tools necessary to achieve strategic goals.
· Inspire and enable you to change your organization's approach by overcoming extreme risk-avoidance, in order to
tap into this pool of talent.
Max Dubroff, SHRM-SCP
Max Dubroff, SHRM-SCP, has HR experience that includes teaching, consulting, as a strategic business partner and as a director. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, having specialized in security, law enforcement, and anti-terrorism. He is also the former Chairman of a non-profit board, a former Oklahoma Employment Security Commissioner and is a mentor on Veterati. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master's in Human Resources.
