Behavioral Threat Assessment and The Pathway to Violence
Preventing targeted violence in the workplace requires an approach founded in science, empathy, and teamwork. Behavioral threat assessment is a relatively new methodology bringing together subject matter experts to assess threats to employees and implementing interventions to keep them safe. This presentation is a primer on understanding the known pathway predatory actors follow, the eight warning behaviors to look out for, and how to assemble a team to prevent mass casualty violence.

Joshua Shelton
Joshua Shelton has worked for FedEx for almost 10 years and with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Georgia as a detective 13 years prior to that. He currently chairs the Georgia DFCS Region IV Board and seeks to spread the word of violence prevention. Josh is a Certified Threat Manager (CTM) and serves on the Southeastern Region board of The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, an organization of law enforcement, prosecutors, mental health professionals, and corporate security practitioners in the field of assessing and managing threats of violence.
