'Emotional intelligence' is a phrase many of us have heard of, but don't necessarily know what to do about. In fact, it can be a powerful tool to help coworkers better understand themselves and have empathy for each other, particularly with the diverse mix of employees in modern organizations. This workshop will explore how individuals' cultural identities and diverse experiences may influence their interactions at work, and present some simple steps to improving workplace relationships.

Learning Objectives:

  • Be self-aware of you own emotional motivations and interpretations.
  • Manage your reactions to others' words, behaviors, and decisions in the workplace, particularly across cultural differences.
  • Develop social awareness to be empathetic toward other people's perspective and emotional state.
  • Strengthen relationships with colleagues through more effective conversation and inclusive interaction.
  • Find your 'why' for practicing emotional intelligence, to drive sustained inclusion at work.
