Become an Ally: When Interpersonal Harassment Bleeds into the Workplace

Attendees will learn how to better protect themselves, their employees/colleagues, and clients/customers against threats of violence and how to facilitate a workplace culture that invites its employees to come forward with information that could lead to potential violence in the workplace.

Workplace violence is on the rise. Sadly, it oftentimes starts at home.  Join Kris for an emotional journey through the experiences people face when interpersonal harassment invades their workplaces.  Kris will arm you with information and resources to protect yourselves, your colleagues/employees, and your customers, and will inspire you to make a difference when possible.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the obstacles (real and perceived) that often cause employees facing harassment in their personal lives not to report their experiences (and how to overcome those obstacles).
  • Learn how to become an ally who supports and contributes to a workplace culture that cares about its employees experiencing out-of-the office harassment.Learn how to protect yourselves, your workplace, and your clients from people who engage in harassing behavior.

Kris Krupka is an Advanced Certified Paralegal who has been employed with Baird Holm LLP in Omaha, Nebraska for over 24 years.  She works in the firm’s Labor & Employment section, primarily focusing on employment defense work involving employment litigation, tort and personal injury, and workers’ compensation.  She has a special niche regarding Emergency Crisis Response cases, assisting clients in protecting their workplaces and employees from disgruntled workers, customers, and patients.
