The Power of Belonging
What comes after diversity and inclusion; you ask? Belonging!!!
In an article written by Harvard Business Review (2019), “U.S. businesses spend nearly 8 billion dollars each year on diversity and inclusion (D&I) trainings” and yet 40% of people say that they feel isolated at work. The result has been lower organizational commitment and engagement. When employees experience belonging, they are more likely to be innovative, do more than what is required, and ultimately drive revenue. Once belonging is a part of a company’s culture, it becomes infectious and cultivates a new way of doing business.
This engaging and research-based workshop uncovers the power of belonging. Using a mixture of the professional D&I experience, a personal journey, research and a whole lot of edutainment, the facilitator with share with participants the meaning of belonging.
Participants will learn how to:
- Understand the effects of belonging and its impact on workplace
- Understand the brain science associated with belonging
- Identify innovative strategies that foster belonging in the workplace
- Have conversations about equity in the workplace
