The Power of Language: Shifting D&I Conversations to Promote a Workplace for All

Inclusion 2020
Attendees will learn how to use language to overcome unconscious biases and adjust D&I strategies to foster inclusivity and a workplace for all.

The language we use daily, whether it's realized or not, impacts the way employees feel about their workplace. Unfortunately, that means that unconscious bias is still present in most organizations today, even the most progressive, innovative and diverse. What does this language look like? How can today's organizations use technology to overcome this unconscious bias within their organizations? How can they create a D&I framework that promotes unified language that truly allows every employee to feel included? This session will answer all of these questions, and audience members will leave with a better understanding of how to drive inclusiveness and innovation through language within their workplaces.

Learning Objectives:

  • Showcase how the language we use can reinforce unconscious bias.

  • Demonstrate how audience members can shape D&I conversations to ensure that inclusivity.

  • Educate audience members on how to create a proactive D&I strategy to overcome the unconscious bias.
