In the IE&D space, "Ally" has practically become a bad word….not because allies don't play an important role in advancing IE&D outcomes, but because so many people tend to get it wrong. What does it mean to do allyship right? Join IE&D experts and authors, Sertrice Shipley & Dr. Victoria Mattingly, who will share examples from their work, research, and personal experience about what it means to leverage allies for good.
Learning Objectives:
- Acquire a new framework for understanding allyship as a dynamic relationship between an ally and a partner.
- Reflect upon missed opportunities to either be an ally or work with an ally at a previous time in one's life.
- Cultivate positive feelings toward the concept of allyship as an effective IE&D strategy, rather than a misaligned approach to diluting IE&D efforts.
