Most organizations explicitly value inclusion; yet they leave it up to individuals to figure it out. That leads to a culture that often falls short of true inclusion. In this session, Dr. Michael Baran will provide practical steps that organizations and individuals can take to level up your culture so that it is truly inclusive and psychologically safe for everyone, ensuring higher satisfaction, better mental health, higher retention, and increased performance.

Learning Objectives:

  • Confirm why true inclusion and psychological safety matter so much for our organizations to achieve the highest performance possible.
  • Understand why the current state of most organizations leads to under-the-radar subtle and passive exclusion and lack of safety for so many people.
  • Explore immediately actionable steps for organizations to take in order to create more intentional acts of inclusion.
  • Discover immediately applicable guidelines for speaking up and standing up for colleagues, one of the most important ways to ensure that everyone feels safety and inclusion.
  • Apply the concepts discussed to policies, processes, and practices in order to proactively build the most inclusive and safe culture possible.
