Participants will learn to identify the effects of unconscious Filters and how to apply straightforward strategies for interrupting their influence on thoughts and actions, as well as how to connect them to the long-term development processes necessary for individuals and organizations to create greater equity.

While there's lots of talk about bias, little to nothing has been done to develop skills to actually challenge it and its impact on inequities-until now. With new concepts created from the fields of cultural competence and unconscious bias, this session will provide an understanding of the three functions and three types of unconscious Filters, straightforward strategies to interrupt them, and long-term development processes for both individuals and organizations to create greater equity.
