HR’s value – what is it? Why do we REALLY exist? It seems like an easy question to answer but HR professionals get distracted with words like “compliance” or “trusted support” or “strategic partner.” To further distract us, for years we have been jockeying our way into the Board Room or otherwise trying to establish our credibility with executive leadership. Do this, do that…the strategies have been endless! Heather Kinzie was lucky; she had a mentor who paid no heed to trendy strategies and, instead, focused on the core concepts that serve as HR’s Purpose. She was taught that honing in on purpose results in better outcomes. She will share her mentor’s advice so that you can learn how to ignore the distractions and be able to solve the HR mystery so you can be purposeful and, moreover, invaluable.

If you ask her what she is proud of, she'll tell you it's because she has made a positive difference. She's mentored a leader, she's salvaged a business, she's encouraged a student, and she's inspired the discouraged. This hasn't made her rich but it's enriched her career.
Heather is a writer and public speaker covering topics such as leadership, workforce engagement and collaboration, strategic planning and organizational performance.
