A Worldly Point of View: Inclusive Hiring and Employee Wellbeing
Through global mobility, immigration, and professional and cultural exchange, workforces are becoming increasingly international. In conversation with SHRM Senior Vice President of Membership Michael Aitken, Marion Anderson, a leading HR professional from the UK, will take us around the globe with stories from her time working in Scotland, the U.S., England, India and the Middle East. Today, Ms. Anderson is a People & Culture expert and is participating in a professional development and cultural exchange program in the U.S. (Exchange Visitor/J-1 Visa Program) sponsored by SHRM. Drawing on these experiences and real-world examples, Ms. Anderson will shine a light on many outdated processes and practices that exist, including lack of cultural sensitivity and mental health considerations.
Through Ms. Anderson’s own trials and tribulations, you will gain insight on how global recruitment strategies may be overhauled for the better. This includes taking advantage of the Exchange Visitor Program to help bring diversity to the American workplace. Take away practical applications to help you expand your thinking, foster inclusiveness and increase your cultural awareness to become an even stronger diversity, equity and inclusion champion.
