Joe believes that everyone has a superpower that makes them unique; and his happens to be that he can predict the future.  Some of the time, his predictions are actually correct.  He is a leader in digitalization, emerging technology, data analytics, and strategic workforce development at BMW Manufacturing.  In his 15-year career spanning roles in IT, Logistics, and Human Resources in the BMW Group he has led his teams to focus on continuous improvement through innovation.  This includes years spent leading teams in China, designing BMW HR’s Digitalization Strategy in the upstate of South Carolina, and managing dozens of cross-functional projects within the BMW Group across 4 continents.   

He is a contributor to the American Payroll Association and the Society for Human Resource Management.  His team was recognized in 2016 by the American Payroll Association (APA) with their national Prism Award for Best Practices and he was honored in 2021 with the APA’s prestigious Meritorious Service Award. Joe holds a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering and an M.A. degree in Economics both from Clemson University.

Erica started her career designing and facilitating training for social impact organizations. She quickly realized her calling: arming organizations with the capability needed to evolve. Since joining SHRM four years ago, Erica has held three roles. She began her career at SHRM in Research, then moved onto the founding SHRMLabs team. SHRMLabs explores the intersection of work and technology. Now, Erica oversees the enterprise client experience as the Manager of Solution Architecture.

Erica holds a master’s degree in industrial/Organizational Psychology, with a focus in instructional systems design. She earned her SHRM-SCP and consistently speaks on behalf of SHRM on workplace tech, the future of work, DEIB, and upskilling. Outside of work, you can find Erica tending to her indoor and outdoor garden, and giving her cat, Suki, more attention than she wants.
