End the Culture(Fit) Wars: Training to Improve Candidate Experience and Reduce Bias in Interviews

2023 Talent Conference
Attendees will learn techniques to train hiring managers and interviewers how to conduct efficient, accurate and equitable interviews.

Many HR and Talent leaders struggle to collaborate with hiring managers looking for candidates that not only clear a high bar for skills and abilities, but meet fuzzy criteria for 'culture fit'. This is a major challenge to maintaining a strong and diverse hiring funnel and can lead to serious DE&I issues, both for new hires and existing team members.  Additionally, while your hiring managers and interviewers may have a good sense of the skills needed to fill a role, it is difficult to get everyone on an interview panel on the 'same page' when it comes to capturing clear, objective evidence of skills in an interview setting.   In this interactive workshop, Dave Collins (CEO, Oak and Reeds) will present simple, practical and proven techniques for building expert interviewer skills across all levels of an organization. This workshop provides HR leaders a set of frameworks and tools that will equip them to lead challenging conversations and run effective interviewer trainings.

Learning Objectives:

  • Train your hiring managers to use a structured interview plan to increase evaluation consistency.
  • Talk to all interviewers about the importance of (and methods for) reducing the impact of unconscious bias before, during and after interviews.
  • Establish objective, evidence-based rubrics for assessing company values in candidates.
  • Support the creation of a welcoming and equitable in-person and virtual candidate experience.
  • Understand how to partner with diverse hiring managers to work more collaboratively to source, interview and hire for new roles.

In-person session offerings are on a first-come, first-served basis.
