As states explore how to help employers make quality care more affordable for their workforce, companies are stepping up, leaning in, and shaping policy.  In this session, explore what is working across the nation to make childcare more accessible and affordable, and the ways that employers are leading the charge.

Learning Objectives:

  • Hear the economic impact and benefit of accessible, reliable care for an employer and the broader economy.
  • Receive examples of how states that are innovating in the employer-sponsored child care space.
  • This includes programs to match employer contributions, tax credits and deductions, and dedicated startup funds to help employers invest in their workforce.

Brian Gutman is Learning Care Group’s senior expert on federal and state early care and education policies. He leads LCG’s advocacy with federal and state policymakers, and early childhood education organizations to close the gaps in access and opportunity for all children. Brian joined Learning Care Group from the Midwest office of The Education Trust, where he was the Director of External Relations and Public Engagement. Previously, he worked on policy with a state agency and was legislative and budget director for an elected official. Brian is admitted to practice law in Michigan, Massachusetts, and New York.
