GAME CHANGER: Facebook’s D&I Journey: Creating an Authentic Workplace
There are now more than 2.2 billion people connected worldwide online. Social media has become an integral part of modern society and a prominent focus of the new digital age. Facebook is at the forefront of the social media world with more than 900 million users worldwide. Sara Sperling, Head of Diversity and Inclusion, will share how Facebook’s mission and culture help the company to achieve their goal of every employee being their authentic self at work.

Sara Sperling leads diversity & inclusion programs for Facebook, where she focuses on creating a work environment where people can be their authentic selves. Prior to Facebook, she was a Senior Learning & Development Program Manager at Yahoo. She has held teaching positions at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, SCU Leavey School of Business, and Foothill College. Sara holds a MA from Stanford University, an MBA from Santa Clara University, and a Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics and Economics from UC Irvine. She has been published in Secret Sisters: Stories of Being Lesbian and Bisexual in a College Sorority and It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living.
